Hi Phye,

Great image! I wish everyone would do that!

To only save a shadow to a file (or more specifically an alpha channel), go to your Surface Editor, Advanced Tab and change the Alpha Channel from Surface Opacity to Shadow Density. You'll render out the image in RGB and the shadow info in the Alpha channel which can then be used in AE, Combustion, Photoshop, etc. Just make when you render, you render to a 32-bit format instead of 24-bit.

As for a more blury shadow, have you tried using a Shadow Map instead of a Ray Traced shadow for the shadow type? It should render faster too.
