I discovered that the ATTO UL3D card that I was using was an Apple OEM version of the card. Meaning that the card was designed for sale and installation of Apple machines directly from the factory. This version of card is slightly different from the ATTO UL3D retail card, using different IC's and different firmware.
The catch is in the firmware, the Apple OEM card WILL NOT accept a firmware flash (and is designed to not be upgraded) so you are stuck with the firmware that the card shipped with.
In my case, the conflict was that my Medea drive needed a newer version of firmware to work with the card, so I was screwed.
I ended up calling Medea and we configured the caching scheme of my Medea to work with my Adaptec 39160 SCSI card and now I am editing real time uncompressed using the Medea and Adaptec card.
I sold the useless (in my case) UL3D card on E-bay for the same price that I paid for it because the dealer that sold it to me refused to refund my purchase price. I no longer use that dealer.
DJ
