1. Try rebuilding the Classic desktop. You can do that easily in the Classic system preference, "Advanced" tab. See if that helps.

2. Try running Classic with extensions off. When you startup Classic, hold the 'shift' to turn off extensions. If it completes, then chances are you're looking at an extension conflict.
