I've only been lurking a short while in this forum, but boy, you guys are impressive. Tony, that Apple link was the kind of rundown I was looking for.
And Curtis, your point about the 'quirkiness' and overall newness of X was, I believe, exactly the problem I've been running into in preparing my notes. OS 9 was so familiar and more simplistic to identify and explain in terms of a step by step troubleshooting process.
OS X is very short list as far as GUI level troubleshooting. It all seems to be on the UNIX level.
