I don?t have any direct knowledge, but Apple has had near the same pricing for their high end computers for many years. I think if you budget around $3,500 - $4,000 you should be fine (not including monitors, and other extra?s). The last one I remember being more than that was the 9600/350 and it was closer to $5,500.

As far as Apple coming out with new superfast models anytime soon, we?ll have to see. If you asked me anytime before the last couple of weeks I would have said we won?t see anything but minor speed bumps until next year. Now, I?m not so sure. Apple is feeling the heat and may have something up their sleeves for August or so.
