10.2.5 Problem ?

I recently updated to 10.2.5 and ever since I cannot install anything. The installer doesn't respond other than opening, but after that it just sits there. Apple told me to create a new identity and import all my files over there. They were also supposed to send an e-mail to tell me how to do this but didn't, of course. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks
