Hey Kallee,

If you hold down your control key while clicking on your desk top you can access the Apple help program. Just type in screen shot and all the options will come up.

Basically it will tell you the following:

Command Shift 3 will take a picture of the entire screen

Command Shift 4 will allow you to drag a box around the part of the screen you want to take a picture of.

Command Shift 4 Capslock will allow you to take a picture of whatever window you click on next.

The picture will be saved on you start-up hard drive (not your desktop) and it will be saved as a Pict file. You will need to use Photoshop or maybe Quicktime Pro to convert it to a tiff if that is what you need.
