Let me recap what we showed in Color Finesse 2.0 at IBC and DV Expo. I assume you're familiar with the current version 1.5 of Color Finesse, so I won't go over that. These are the features we've demonstrated at the tradeshows. It is not a complete list of the features of 2.0. We have to reserve a few pleasant surprises...
Version 2 will be available as either a plug-in version (same hosts as 1.5) or as a standalone color corrector.
We showed the following in both the plug-in and standalone versions:
- Ability to scrub in clips (including in AE and FCP).
- Resolution independent
- Video previewing (SD or HD) via Blackmagic/Kona/etc. cards, FireWire, or via Echo Fire.
- Display lookup tables (LUTs)
- Saved grade presets that can be recalled with a keystroke
- Support for optional hardware control surface
- Fast reference image generation
And we showed the following in the standalone version:
- Project timeline
- Ability to import and export FCP-compatible XML files. All FCP project metadata is preserved.
- Ability to import EDL files
- Support for Cineon/DPX/TIFF/Targa/etc. image sequences
- Multiple display layouts for grade-in-context
And for those who haven't read the other messages in this thread: When? "Q1 2005". Pricing? "To Be Announced". Upgrades? "To Be Announced."
Full details will be available when we make our official announcement. I think this is all I'm going to say for now.
