One plus for Particular... it runs as a plugin from within After Effects. I'd heard it rumored on the COW that PI was releasing a plugin version, too, but I haven't heard any more about it.

PI has a much larger user-supported preset community. I would love to see Particular support a community of presets available for download. The presets that ship with it work well, but a user-built hub would be nice.

Because Particular runs from within After Effects, all of the wonderful benefits (like using expressions, and interacting with AE layers) remain in tact. And you don't have to render out and import video.

Particular has my vote.
