If this is an important gag that has to look good to make your project a winner...shoot a test with various lighting ratios to see what works. The other option is to run that scene through a proc amp and clip the whites so that the flash is legal. I doubt you will capture much detail in the flash anyway...I haven't used this gag so this is just my humble opinion! HTH
