My new build consists of an AMD XP2000, Gigabyte GA-7DXR+, and Gainward Video card. During the install of Win200Pro, I keep getting "stop" screen errors. These errors usually occur sometime after the 4th install disk. Sometimes I get as far as formatting the drive, the "STOP". I got Win2000 installed once, but it was sometimes rebooting for no apparent reason, so I tried to reinstall.
I checked and rechecked my bios, I removed ALL pci cards, and tried to install with just the video adapter, hard drive, and DVD-ROM, and floppy, just to avoid any IRQ conflicts. Below are typical of the errors I have been recieving. I apologize if I have been a pain in the A**, I'm just really doing my best to get this system up. Anyone with ANY direction to point me in, as always, will be appreciated....
"Stop:0x0000000A (0x01f00080,0x0000002,0x00000001,0x803A73EC)
***addresss 803A73EC base at 803A400, DateStamp 381f8c6e-hal.dll
Refer to getting started manual for tropublshooting stop errors"
I also sometimes get farther into the install process before I get the stop screen...
"Stop:0x0000007F(0x00000005,00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000)
UNEXPECTED_KERNAL_MODE_TRAP"
The last one I got while Win2000Setup was attempting to format the drive
I also had ones that said....
"STOP DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL
***address BFFBAF77 base at BFFA2000, DateStamp 38441c2a-setupdd.sys"
And then sometimes when I finally get Win200Pro installed I have trouble running certain functions such as installing, download updates and when I ran disc cleanup. The system would just reboot on its own while attempting to do any of these.
On several occasions while running win2000 i got the followng error windows...
"the SystemRoot|System32DriversStream.sys device driver could not locate the entry point KS Cach Medium in driver KS.sys"
"the SystemRoot|System32DriversMPE.sys device driver could not locate the entry point KF Acquire Spin Lock in driver hal.dll"
Microsoft has this note on their support page refering to STOP errors. I'm not sure if it applies though...
