Copying from + to - and inherited compatibility

I just bought a Pioneer dual format DVR S606 burner. I have some +R dvd's (don't have the original dvd folders on HDD) that I'd like to copy to -R discs. Will the newly made -R discs inherit the same degree of compatibility as the +R discs have. In other words will the burning software, authoring program, 2.4x burn speed, and media brand that was used to create the original +R discs affect and limit the playability of the new -R disc (to the compatibility level of the old +R discs).
Keep in mind I plan to use 1x burn speed and different burning software.
