It worked just fine. The method I first used was the one you described where there was a slight discontinuity as the first part played, then the second part (with the subpicture), but as you said, it was disconcerting. The method you described worked perfectly. Although I didn't implement your suggestion of a second menu for looping afterward because the into piece was only 2 seconds (in part because I was too lazy to want to mess with re-linking all the menus and because encompassing all the buttons with the tool in ReelDVD is tedious . . . and also, because it looked fine as it was) it was a great idea!
