However, the role of the DP which has always included the ‘look’ of a project is now in some ways being challenged by the technologies now at the disposal of editors. The primary consequences effect the realm of video at present. In future since film to tape transfer for editing is common, initial capture may be in a more general lighting scheme and the look achieved in some yet unborn editing software-MB,CineLook notwithstanding.
