Most of the people only come to the forums when they have a problem. Considering the number of users versus the number of people posting it's looking pretty good. I would say almost all the time most problems are to (as HAL would say) "human error"

If you want to be safe, purchase one of the certified systems from a vendor or be adventurous (i.e. save money) and build it youself. It should run without a hitch once you get it all configured correctly.

AVID is pretty good about releasing updates and catching potential any problems pretty quickly on it's online support documentation system.

If your looking for complete stablility grab a Grass Valley. ;)

On a personal note, I have found the PC version to be a little quicker and more robust than the Apple version. On a G5 2G dual, I found I was getting little beachball pauses allot (especially in capturing). On my PC notebook 3G single, it is really fast and has not crashed on me yet.

Try it out.
