If...
everything is as it appears and as announced --
and when was the last time that ever happened?
-- then it truly is a bargain.
Can Media 100 do it? Are they capable of doing it? Do they have the technological ability and the desire to do it???
I'd say "Yes" in all cases. Back when I bought my first Media 100 I did so because I had worked in the aerospace industry and I had known who Data Translation was (M100's true parent company) and what they had accomplished for NASA, the CIA, etc. (At least I heard rumors!)
I joked back then that
"Data Translation is the company that taught the CIA how your pores look from hundreds of miles up."
When it came to imaging, DT was king and I had no doubt that they were about to kick this industry's proverbial fanny.
Can they do it again? I believe they can. Media 100 needs to overcome the perceptions in the marketplace that are going to cause the people with the budgets to weigh before they buy. But if Media 100 can deliver a real system that can do what they claim -- and not put out a 30% version of it and tell people:
"Just wait till you see the
next
version!"
... then they just might win at playing
Stump the Pundits
again...
Waiting for Ground Zero...
