I agree that if you are making a living using Media 100 exclusively then there really isn't much reason to upgrade. Most of us could get away with much older versions of Media 100 than you are using. But if you use After Effects, 3D programs, or others that need speed and stability then the latest Mac's running OS X are the way to go.

One option is get a new Mac and use it for everything but Media 100 and those older Classic applications you still need occasionally. I have a couple of older ones still, but almost never use them.
