The `Blacklight' produces a spectrum of deep blue to violet visible light as well as invisible ultraviolet. The PD170 should not have a problem with the visible portion of the light. I don't think the ultraviolet spectrum will induce a false-color response in the PD's CCDs. You will also pick up all the fluorescent light. People's teeth and the sclera of their eyeballs will be glowing.

I can only speak for the response of a VX2000, but having the gain all the way up on your camera would likely introduce a lot of noise. Probably keeping it to 12dB will minimize that. Setting the shutter speed to 1/30 will help also. The low-light ability of the PD170 should do a good job assumming the blacklight is a bigger one, a 2" tube at least. You'll just have to test it and see.
