Rick,
Could there be a head clog in the 1500 (or even a blown video head)? Have you tried using a DVCAM cleaning cassette? Has this machine worked well in the past? Did you recently hook the 1500 up to a new system? Do you have a DVCAM tape known to be good that you can play in this machine? If a good tape fails to play back, that would indicate that you may have a video head clog/malfunction. Also, does the 1500 work normally if you use other video inputs? Hope this will point you in the right direction.
