I just wanted to add to this rare body of thought here on the PDX10. I like this camera very much, though I am recently troubled by it's low light ability. I shoot mostly in classrooms these days, and while the colors are wonderful, there is too much noise, particularly in wider shots, in this amount of light. It isn't terrrible, but I need it to be better. I hope to pair it with a PD170 in January, I think it will do well when used for more specialized shots. What can one expect from small chips? It does seem to suppress noise rather well, and in more controlled shooting this can be worked around with joy.

Miscellaneous thoughts:

The PDX10 produces wonderful audio, and the XLRs work through the intelligent shoe, rather than through the mini jack.
It is much more handsome than the GL2, if slightly awkward with it's XLRs towering on top. The GL2 is just plain ugly.
The PDX10 soaks up battery power rather fast, and the largest battery for it is about 4 hours in length. Get several.
Despite it's slight size, the PDX10 is not much of a handheld cam. It's heavy and hasn't got a perfect balance. Unless you're recording audio externally, put it on a tripod, or get into a little light body building.
The GL2 is very very ugly.
Happy Halloween!
