Hi thanks for the feedback so far,

For parts of the show the full area of 4:3 screen is used, but for many other parts we're using a mix of cropping and scaling and movement to create montages with moving boxes. And there's lots of black space used at times as well, sometimes similar to a letterbox look, sometimes not so. So addressing Nancy's concern, the hope is even a mismatch of the aspect ratios will fit with the montaging. And yeah, we won't be shooting the bad 16:9 of the pd-150, or try and create a letterbox to match.

Whether shooting 16:9 is a good idea or not I'm still not sure. It may be just a case of people wanting to use the cool new options available to them. So I'm trying to figure out the practical side of that, any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for your info Bill, it was very useful.

It's a Canadian travelling makeover show for those curious.

jason
