Help!! Sony DSR-1800 DVCAM

I have a question about the Sony DSR-1800 DVCAM recorder. My first question is, can you record MiniDV on this machine? Whenever we reocrd on a MiniDV tape it will not playback in the same machine it was recorded on - you can only see the picture and timecode when you are shuttling--we've also had clients say that they couldn't play it back in their DV cameras. Is the machine recording DVCAM format on the MiniDV tape? and is this what is causing the problem? The tape plays fine in our portable MiniDV player, but not in some of our clients' cameras. I need a MiniDV dub of a digibeta with matching timecode - how can I make this happen on this machine?
