How would you do this low budget 2 camera shoot?

Thanks so much for your reply,
I just got my Mx-1 today! I have never used a video switcher. Would you be willing to give me some tips on what your recommendation is for a setup that is for a 2- camera live switched shoot:
CRITERIA: very low budget non profit 4 day shoot- have to purchase very low cost used equipment, too expensive and don't have insurance to rent equip.
Have to fly (which is a little spooky right now) in so must travel very light.
SETUP: Hotel ballroom in Texas. One person at the podium and two people in front of him in chairs doing a live demo. 3 mikes? Cameras 100 ft away from speaker. 2 person crew. I must switch and run 1 camera. Cameras vx-1000/vx2000. Deck sony dr5 dv deck to full sized dv tapes.
QUESTIONS
1) what type and size of video cables/adapters do you recommend and where do they go?
2) what mikes, and mike cords and attachments/adapters do you recommend.
That will work, but that we can still buy cheap or used. (mikes 100 ft from camera)
3) what is the minimum monitor setup I can use to get the job done with an mx1?
4) what is an inexpensive headset that will work to talk to cameraman?
ANYTHING Else I should know?
Thank you for your valuable time and advice!
James
