I try to use a tripod whenever appropriate, of course.

The camera is really light, which can make holding it steady a bit of a challenge...I don't think I'll ever be as steady with it as I am with my 600.

For handheld, I usually switch between holding it at eye level, with one hand on the right side, and the other underneath. I can usually hold it pretty steady this way for about 10 minutes at a stretch.

Then I switch to a waist level shot, putting both hands underneath it...one toward the front, one toward the back. Again, this is good for about 10 minutes. Switching back and forth between the 2 gives me good shot variety, and I can keep it pretty steady for a fairly long time.

Also, for moving shots, grabbing it with one hand by the handle works pretty well, keeping your arm stiff like a Steadicam arm (you can bend your elbow...but you need to keep your arm stiff and move your body).

I have a friend who swears by his Steadicam Jr. I haven't used it, but he's going to let me check it out...I'll let you know how well it works. Glidecam also makes a similar system, as do a couple other companies.

I did try a shoulder brace, but it just made things worse.
