Here's how I recommend using this setup. I have the ME66 and a DVX.
Make sure the camera input is selected to Mic Level. Make sure input 1 is selected. Use Phantom power selection on camera. Make sure you are using an XLR cable that is wired correctly. Unless the mic is damaged, you should have no problems here. If you use your mixer inline, then make sure to change the input back to line level on the front of the camera. Otherwise you will distort badly. You can also turn off phantom power if you use the mixer.
