My otherwise excellent UA-5 always gave me poor recording results with Mic or line line because the gain structure seems definitely weak. I must crank it to have, say, -6 dB
peak in Sound Forge and the preamp begin to distort at this level. This is not a soft or driver issue btw.

I verified this with 3 condensor mikes: Rhode NT1, AKG Lavallier and Audio Tech. CM87 and also line level signals.

Any idea, any cure for this?
