DSERe: Recommendations for good DV audio post software
by on Jan 4, 2003 at 12:19:22 am

I've got a buncha ProTools stuff on Ebay now....if you wanna buy it.
I agree that most of the stuff out there is done w/Protools.
That's sad.
Protools is so F@$#@%~! weak compared to so many other apps out there nowadays, and you're hearing that from a guy who has done easily 250 records (released) in ProTools. But the majority of my work now is in Vegas, Sonar, Forge. I do have Logic, for as long as it works, I've got Nuendo, and many others. ProTools set the standard and then stayed there. Too much bullsh@# to work with, and their lack of 'real' window support is gonna kill them. Just look at their stock and market share.
I actually had one ProTools professional comment recently "Nothing sounds as good as ProTools."
Oh yeah? You can actually hear the difference in bits listening to audio captured via the same I/O in two different apps?
Learn Protools. But don't live by it. Unless they really get their crap together fast, they are going to be in the same boat as their parent, Avid. Losing marketshare already, starting to see the water reach the gunnell's already.
