Error Message: "Can't find capture inpoint. Try increasing preroll."

I've been using Premiere 6.5 with a Sony DV camera. My new computer, a Sony Vaio media center edition, comes equipped with Premiere standard. Purportedly, the computer is set-up to make DVDs from Premiere Standard but NOT 6.5.
However, when I try to capture video in Premier standard, from my Sony Camera via firewire, I get the Error Message: "Can't find capture inpoint. Try increasing preroll." The capture window will control the camera. End and exit points appear in the right spaces when entered.
I have no problems caturing video in Premier 6.5 on this computer.
I tried both increasing preroll and decreasing it as suggested in another COW post. This error message occurs with preroll settings of 40 seconds to 1 second.
The error message also occurs when I try to capture manually.
