Ted Demme, an unfortunate loss...

I was truly saddend to hear of Ted Demme's untimely demise yesterday. He was apparently playing a charity basketball game at Sundance when he was stricken with heart failure. Age 38. Whew.
Those who have seen his recent triumph, Blow, know what an amazing filmmaker he was becoming. In an editorial sense Blow was a masterpiece of pacing and story telling, beautifully written, shot, and cut.
Ted had been working on a documentary of the 70's 'golden era' of film, and the emergence of the new generation of auteurs (scorsese, Coppola, Lucas, etc)... He had done extensive research towards producing the documentary.
He will be sorely missed.
