In a lot of cases, your clients are as well educated as you are about the technology used to mae their ads work. They might not know the "nuts and bolts" of your system, but they can understand the difference between Avid and Premiere and regardless of a lot of paperwork (or ever actual work) to show otherwise, some clients will look for what they know.

That being said, we have had pretty good response from our FCP system in an area surrounded by Avid Xpress and Composer systems (literally). Granted, we aren't simply running a Mac with a monitor and a simple toolset, but we seem to be gaining popularity pretty rapidly. To be honest, we would NEVER had gotten the oportunity to do a lot of this work if we had ever said Adobe Premiere or Firewire or "desktop" for that matter, but that is where real creative genius takes over. While FCP is gaining a reputation as an "Avid-like" tool, it is a good time to make people pay attention to you and not the editing tool. You just might break the "Avid chain" mindset yet.

Michael
