I think another skill that has importance, is clicking around the screen making it look like your making changes, because the director didn't like the last version, and when he looks at the new improved and completely untouched version he's happy!!!!!!!

That's like the proverbial extra 'master' fader for live sound, in case someone complains that it's too loud. Pull that fader down some right in front of them and ask them if that's better, and they will 'always' say yes. That used to crack me up.
