There are tons of animated backgrounds but I've not seen anything (other than the animated series you mention) that fit your needs.
Like Bobby says, the best option is Zaxwerks Invigorator and using some of the many thousands of vector files floating around the Net and elsewhere, you could be rendering out some gorgeous stuff fairly quickly.
If that's not fast enough and quality isn't as much an issue, then you might want to find an old copy of LogoMotion somewhere. It had hundreds of these kinds of props and starter files and did a decent job that I've often seen used in local commercials here in Central California. I've even spotted some LogoMotion elements in national spots from time to time.
A last option -- and I do mean last! -- is Hollywood FX from Pinnacle. It's like owning your very own cheese factory and while most of its stuff is pure American processed cheese whiz, there are some nice things in the series and while rare, there are a few there.
But if you want something really cool that you can spend some money on to get something new into your work, check out the
India Pro titler -- in their booth it was standing room only at DV Expo and usually 5 to 10 deep. Cool stuff.
The best always,
