A couple of notes:
You may want to undercrank (Speed up) your footage a bit. Also chop out a few frames here and there for a "respliced" look. As far as tint, old films aren't purely B&W. There is a bit of a tint. After looking at lots of old photos, I found that shifting your blacks and highlights toward an olive tone looked more authentic. Also film back then was reversal. So it had no latitude. So use levels or curves to crunch in on the blacks and clip the whites a bit.
