problem with c4d version 8, need help!

Please be patient with me as this is a hard thing to describe without you seeing it in person.

I'm trying to make a composition in C4d version 8, and whenever I save, C4d takes the last object I was working on and moves it to another location in the project space, and without my wanting it to. Undo's do not correct it. If I manage to save without C4d doing this, and then have the problem occur, then if I open the saved version, it, too, has changed and the object is moved.
Is this a known glitch? Are there patches? Is there a solution besides 'upgrade' 'cause that's not one right now...
