Well, I'm slowly getting there. Between Thorn, Sunny, and Dave, I'm getting quite the education on lighting and radiosity. Correctly lighting a scene is a very tedious process. Multiply the effort by 10 when radiosity is in the mix.
This image took only 50 minutes to render (compared to 7 hours for a partial prepass render yesterday). I think I'll work on modelling now for a while. Match the curve of the railings to the platform, add some elements/props tothe scene, extrude the light shafts. etc..
Thanks for all your patience with my learning process. I'll post more images as I get farther along.
