Hi Dave,
Yes it is easy... there feel better? B^)

To expand on what Mike has told you:

To change from one movie to another or from a still to a movie etc., just create two textures, one with the still, the other with the movie. Give them different names. Create a texture track for the object, apply the texture and create a keyframe. Then apply the second texture to the same object (you now have two textures applied), create another keyframe and choose the name of the second texture as the target.

Now, the texture will change from one texture to the other over time. Make sure that both textures have the same channels enabled/disabled, otherwise if there is a change between the selection of channels from one texture to the next, it won't be gradual, it will be sudden. For instance if the first texture has the luminance channel disabled, and the second has it enabled, then the frame before the second keyframe will display no luminance, and the next frame it will be full on to whatever setting is in the luminace of the second texture. To get it to ramp, the proper method would be to turn on the luminance for both textures, and crank it down to zero in the first texture. Then it will change gradually.
