Your suggestion lead us to the Video Output window on Motion. I forgot to mention that we have an Aja I/O, so we chose an uncompressed output to view the graphic. Lo and behold the middle graphic looked as sharp as the others.

All of our Project Properties in Motion were set to NTSC Broadcast SD because Apple had told us to do that. Our timeline, as you had guessed, was DV. When we changed the Project Properties to NTSC DV, then the middle graphic looked sharp and the top and bottom ones were fuzzier!

We are planning to online the project using the 8 bit uncompressed SDI codec on our I/O. While the original footage was shot on DVCam and everyone tells us that the quality won't be any better than the DV timeline, our own tests have told us differently. There is a big difference.

I assume we should keep our Project Properties to NTSC Broadcast SD and the graphic will look fine when we online. I wonder, though, if we were to keep the DV timeline, how we could get all the lines of graphics to look sharp!

I am not going to worry about that now. Thank you so much for your help. It solved our problem and was very enlightening at the same time.
