Also, and this is pure speculation, Motion has been written after the the G5's have been out. FCP, DVDSP and other Apple software might have needed updates to increase memory bandwidth awareness. Also, if memory serves me right, Panther sees more than just 2 gigs for each app, I think it's up to 4 - I might be wrong.
