That mostly depends on system performance. On a fast single processor PC it is real-time (3Ghz), i.e. when you capture the conversion occurs at the same time; when you press stop a wavelet file is immediately available. On a slower PC the capture and conversation still overlap, but you may have to wait a short time after stopping the camera before the conversation is completed (still 90% faster than a two step process.) In either case the operation is very friendly on the user as no intermediate user steps are required. The capture utility manages the incoming MPEG2TS stream and the outgoing CineForm AVI, while performing scene detection, and handling MPEG2 resolution changes on the fly. It was a engineering nightmare but the results are worth it. :)
