I am curious about your information:

[Ultra Definition] "1080/60i transfers great to 24p"

Where do you come up with this. 1080i and 720p are both 60/30 formats that require reverse 3:2 pulldown to 24p. ?????

All of your data rate info is nothing like the specs.
DV is 25 mbs
JVC 720p HDV is 19 mbs
Sony 1080i HDV is ???? I have not seen this number.

As long as it is under 25 mbs the data stream will go to tape. It is just a data recorder. It seems to me that a 25mbs HDV 1080i will have very similar picture qualites to the current 720p.

If you have a source for the 1080i HDV specs please let us know.

Steve
