BrentStreaming or progressive?

I'd like to put some examples of my work on my website, but I'm not sure just how to go about it. If I store the files on my site's server as a download, will it play as it downloads, or will the viewer have to download the entire file before it will play? Is there a "cheap and easy" way to get set up on a streaming server?
