Re: You Can't Sell edit (or apparently any other discreet product) on eBay

Actually discreet like many other companies was allowing license transfers, at least until recently. There have been lots of edits, Smokes, Infernos etc. sold on e-bay for years. Edit customers even discussed license transfers with discreet a few years ago and they said that they would be allowed. Discreet even put it in writing on the discreet edit forum. (I'd put a link here for you Patrick but you know what, I think you should be the one to get off your ass and search for it.)

This is apparently a brand new policy and from what I can gather it's not limited to edit. That means if you buy a Smoke or an Inferno and end up going out of business, tough titties, you can't sell it and recoup even part of your investment. It makes buying one of these expensive systems an extremely risky business proposition. I'm sure discreet will lose sales over this. They may already have.

It's too bad discreet is so myopic and difficult to deal with. They make such good stuff....
