Juan,
Reality and Quattrus are both 8 bit boards (with the exception of their smooth 12 bit wipes). Technically, 10 bit boards are able to represent finer precision of chroma and luminance. This difference can be seen, for example, in graphics with uniform color gradients. Practically, 8 bit offers very acceptable results in 99% of typical video productions. Realize also that most compression algorithms (be it on tape or in software) utilize 8 bit.
