To add to what John David said ...
The advantage to the Medea and Huge type of arrays is cost. Period. So if that's the most important factor, then check them out.
But if performance is more important to you, then you might be better off with Seagate Cheetah 15,000 RPM drives. DPS recommends striping them in pairs, and a pair of 73 Gb drives will support the full bandwidth of the board (ie: 4 uncompressed video streams, etc. etc.).
