Io: DV workflow, SDI monitoring

I know it doesn't totaly make sense to use a Io in a FCP DV workflow (firewire capture - DV sequence - firewire DV output), but I would like to know which video ouptut preset should be used in such a case, since I sometimes need to work on such a setup.

The monitor is connected via SDI. What bugs me is calibration...
- both the betacam and SMPTE N10 presets seem innacurate (yes, monitor is always set to the corresponding setting). There seems to be too much chroma and highlights are a bit bleached out, like if there was some odd gamma clamping going on.
- Using a colorbar to calibrate the monitor, I would need to adjust Phase to get the center bars to match the blue and grey bars, but Phase adjustment isn't possible with SDI connection. How to calibrate the monitor in such a situation? Is this the symptom of another problem?
- All presets work in 720*486, but DV is 720*480... could this give me any problem?

Is it possible at all to use the Io in such a workflow? Should I connect the monitor via something else than SDI ?

Sorry for these many questions, but I can't figure it out just by reading the manual.
