It's not up to the AJA IO- its up to your computer. The number of real-time layers you can do depends on the CPU, bus speed and read/write speed of your disk drive- not the AJA IO. Once you bring the video into your computer through the IO, it's up to the computer to handle the layering. Get a RAID if you want to play with *lots* of layers.

All the IO does is exactly what its name is: input and output.
