Are you referring to the European models where the ram installed from Apple wouldn't allow you to add anymore? As I understood it, no U.S. models were affected by this? Can you clarify the situation?

My first G5 was a 338 serial number, but was returned due to a processor failure. I now have a 339 serial number, but I too get a ram indicator in memory and cache that is less than the full amount. I attrubute this to some of my inability to render effects in FCP on our G5 (as some many others have confirmed).

Perhaps I'll try more ram, but we're very close to Panther at this point. Where did you get your ram BTW?
