Doesn't the XDV software have a setting that allows the editor to compensate for the lag? If I remember correctly, the lag on the NTSC output is a few frames behind the Canvas display. It seems like FCP should have the ability for the user to set the Canvas to delay playback to match what's coming down the FireWire cable thru the transcoder. If it's there, I don't see it.
