the best and easiest way to acheive what u r trying to do is to have the still and the video footage on the same timeline, this can be done within your video editor..
I have tried to re-create what i had posted before.. and i would say that you were correct in your assumption that this can't be done... i do aplogise for any Unnecessary "Headbanging of the wall" that I may have caused..
