Hi Jay-

What you're experiencing sounds like a video card issue. It doesn't have anything to do with the content of the MPEG files, it's a matter of how well Encore can communicate that data to the video card and have it display it.

Try updating the drivers for your video card. If that doesn't help, try changing the video card settings- reduce the resolution, the number of colors being used, and/or the hardware acceleration slider (in the Advanced settings of the Display control panel > Settings tab). If you're using two monitors, unplug one of them and reboot.
